A little bit about me:

she/her/hers

Hi, I am Maayan (pronounced “my-yawn”). Thank you for coming to learn more about me.

I feel passionate about the field of mental health and how it pertains to the context of relationships. I feel passionate about healthy ways of relating to our emotions, to ourselves, and to the people around us.

I come from a large family, with many siblings, nieces and nephews, which has taught me from a young age how to relate to people of all different developmental stages and ages. My life experiences influence my curiosity in people and my desire to help others find their sense of purpose and meaning.

Experience

• Child Development Institute (CDI), whose mission is to help all children reach their full potential by supporting the relationships and environments that shape early development. At CDI, I worked with children ages 0-7 with developmental delays and their parents and families.

Cedars-Sinai Share & Care, whose mission is to provide services to at-risk students (elementary and middle school) who are experiencing emotional and academic challenges due to traumatic situations and stressors. At Share & Care, I facilitated discussions and talking in group settings, utilizing art therapy, following a 5 and 8 week curriculum.

• In Private Practice, I continue to gain experience in working with children, adults, and couples. I feel passionate about helping people develop the skills they need to maintain healthy relationships with others and with themselves.

• EMDR Trained through the EMDR Institute, Inc.

Education

I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for my undergraduate studies, receiving a dual degree in both Psychology and Economics. I attended Alliant International University/California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) for graduate school, receiving my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology.
