Maayan Bick, M.A., LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #134044

Welcome to my practice.

I am passionate about helping children, teens, parents, and individuals gain strategies for how to cope with existential dread, manage internal + external conflict, navigate changing relational roles and identities, and build resiliency during times of uncertainty and grief. I help people of all ages manage the emotions + effects of a trauma- a death, a breakup, a divorce, a diagnosis, a chronic illness, bullying, and other losses.

My empathetic nature plays a role in my therapeutic style. I collaboratively work with those who experience emotional difficulties related to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD and Autism, in order to reach relief and feel happier within, and in relationships. I feel passionate about preventative and early care intervention!

As a relational therapist, I specialize in a family systems approach filtered through an attachment-based framework. I am trained in EMDR, art/play therapy, inner-child work, and trauma-based modalities. I offer psychoeducation on how to emotionally regulate, identify our unique needs, communicate our needs, and expand on our perspective. I put emphasis on the fact that we are the way we are because of our SYSTEM (family, society, etc.) and offer space for exploration.

My approach to therapy is realistic and affirming, and provides:

(a) compassionate support and understanding

(b) strategies on how to foster more calmness in ourselves

(c) help in making transformative changes, and

(d) ways to improve communication in your relationships (with your self, child, parent, friend, partner, coworker, boss, etc.).

I know that finding the right therapist isn't always easy, especially when we are going through a really difficult time. A foundation of my approach is making sure my clients feel safe and truly comfortable doing this vulnerable work together. As you are the expert of your own life, I would love to support you on your journey of self-discovery and therapeutic growth.

Please give me a call when you feel ready.
